Knowledge of history is fundamental to the construction of a society based on justice and solidarity we desire and work toward.
We would do well to get to know the different processes of social transformation that our people have lived so we may learn from those who have gone before us in constructing a more just society.
On July 19, 2006, with this XIII Socioeconomic Analysis, Justicia Global commemorated the 1979 triumph of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) over the Somoza dictatorship and the interventionalist policies of the United States.
We commemorated the Nicaraguan Revolution with conversation activities, music, poetry, singing, documentaries, cooperative games and Nicaraguan food.
The quote featured on the poster (above, middle), by Nicaraguan revolutionary leader A.C. Sandino, reads: "We will go toward the sun of freedom or toward death; and if we die, our cause will live on. Others will follow us."
